Bronz ZOO

While Grandma Newman was here we decided to take a trip down the Bronx Zoo with our friends the Yeagers. Side note... Danny and I used to live right across the street from the zoo when we lived in the Bronx. Danny's mom and dad came to visit us there once and we didn't visit the zoo. She thought it was funny that this time we would drive 3 hours to visit, haha.

Anyway it was a good time, all the children were good (thanks to portable DVD players!) The only bummer was that there was a big storm the night before which blew down a whole bunch of trees all over the zoo. So they had to lock up the majority of the animals (tigers, lions, elephants, bears etc) because they could have escaped. Mason still had fun though :)

Going to see the monkeys

This was the highlight of the day, the seals! They were very active and Mason loved it :)

first ice cream cone

Mason got to have his first ice cream cone at our neighbors BBQ. He was confused at first, but then he saw the other kids eating the cone and figured it out. He kept saying "mmmmm"

haha, he only ate one side :)

messy messy

We tried to get a picture with both kids but Mason as usual would not look at the camera

sprinkler fun

A couple of weekends ago our neighbors had us over for a BBQ and they set up some sprinklers for the kids. It took a minute for Mason to warm up to the idea but then he loved running through them, screaming the whole time :)

Lily is 2 months old

My red headed princess is 2 months old :)

* she is such a good sleeper at night, anywhere from 7-9 hours straight!

* she started smiling and is much more alert to the world

*started batting at toys and cooing when you talk to her

* she has had all her grandparents from both sides visit her, what a lucky girl

* her hair is definitely red which is wonderful :)

* sometimes she has a hard time taking naps during the day (she wants to be held to sleep) but I'll take it if she sleeps at night!

Stats when she was 7 weeks and 2 days old:
weight: 14 lbs 13 oz (over 100 percentile)
height: 23 3/4 inches (100 percentile)
head: 15 3/4 (97th percentile)

Yup she is a big girl (future volleyball player!?!)

We love you Lily Mae

practice child

He is sorta naughty but I love him :)

First smile

Lily's first smiled at me at 3 weeks, but the consistent smiles didn't come until about 7 weeks.

When she is really happy she smiles big with her tongue and scrunches her nose, it is super cute.

Down by the river

We live right by the Mohawk river and there is a nice path that goes along side it. Mason loved looking at the ducks and throwing the rocks aka gravel.
