more outside fun

Here are some more pictures from playing outside in our random January warm weather :)

Man I love this girl!

She looks so cute when she is trying to grab things in her little snow suit!

Ralph is also happy it is warm

I tired to put this all on one picture in photoshop but I was having a hard time so you will have to scroll down. Mason loves to run run run... and we have a nice little hill to accommodate.

Lily was done

Seriously mom stop taking pictures

Not even Mason can make me happy!

Hey! I am loving your ABC project. What a fun idea and to have your personal work. I am amazed at all your pictures. They have really gotten good. How do you find time/energy to always carry your camera? I need to be better. You are inspiring me daily. Anyway, photoshop is so tricky to learn and I am wondering how you have learned best...class, book, or just try and figure it out or do you use actions? would love to hear any advice.

Thanks Rachel! I too have a hard time bring my camera where ever I go. Luckily (or unluckily) it is super cold here and we don't get out much. It does help that I leave my 50mm lens on which is small.

As for photoshop. I use photoshop elements and I pretty much have no idea what I am doing. Sometimes I look things up on the internet, but mostly I just play around with different things. My friend recommend all books by Scott Kelby, he has a book for almost all versions of photoshop. I am waiting for it from the library.

The biggest thing that I think has changed my photos is shooting in RAW. I can fix exposures and white balance so much easier (because I am far from perfect!)It takes a little longer to get pictures to the internet because I have to convert all pictures, but it is worth it. Especially with my blue eyed red haired babies. Their eyes are always bluer and hair richer when shooting in RAW!

Oh and committing myself to taking pictures everyday of course helps, practice practice practice!

Oh and I subscribe to TONS of photography blogs, and read as much as I can on the internet which also helps.

All of this is time consuming and I stay up way to late at night, but I love it! Oh and Flickr is super addicting, the talent of other photographers is so inspiring.

Ok this is a novel, hope this helps a little :)

Thanks April for all the info. I guess I just need to bunker down and start reading! I look at so many photo blogs too that I get intimidated. Then if my photos aren't perfect I get so upset. Sounds silly, but true. You crack me up! Oh and about Slade's hair...we take him to cookie cutters sometimes, or the husband cuts it but right now it's hasn't been cut for 2.5 months! Thanks though, good to hear someone likes it. Now you got me onto a novel
