First day of real pre-k

Big Trouble is right, this little boy started preschool!  As many of you know the past 2 years I did a little co-op preschool with Mason and some of my friends with their kids.  We would trade off each week, choose a letter and have fun with the kids.  It was a lot of fun and Mason loved it but I think that he was comfortable because he was always going to his friends houses and there were only 3 maybe 4 other kids there.  Mason doesn't like new things and he doesn't like large crowds.

Here in New York (and the northeast)  the cut off for Kindergarden is December 1st instead of September 1st like most of the country.  So he could have gone to Kindergarden when he was 4 and be one of the youngest in the class.  But after a lot of thought, research and prayer we decided that the right thing for Mason was to wait a year to be shipped off into the public school system!

Since he wasn't going to Kindergarden we felt that it was important for Mason to get used to bigger class sizes and listen to other authorities (ie teachers) and not just his friends moms.  So in enrolled him in a morning preschool class 3 times a week.  At first it was a terrible transition for him but now he loves it!

I am so glad we waited for a year to send him to school.  I am sure there is no way he would have even gotten on the bus to school. Haha.  Here is Mr. Big Trouble on his first day of Pre-K!
